MEMS memory gyro system The isGyro is a user-friendly system for borehole surveying offering high accuracy even in magnetic environments. Download and processing times are fast and the tool can survey for up to 16 hours on a single battery charge. No special pre- or post-survey procedures are necessary to get into the hole. The simple set-up saves valuable site-time and potential sources of human error are reduced. The modular design of the tool minimizes repair times.
High-speed data transfer and processing The isGyro delivers accurate results at high speed: 1 hour's worth of survey data is processed in seconds while data download requires just 4 minutes. This is achieved by our unique combination of advanced sensors, microprocessor systems, efficient data collection, and processing techniques.
isAnalysis - versatile analysis software isAnalysis software allows users to visualize, edit, correct, group and export their survey data. It can also import data from other surveying tools, Excel spreadsheets or text files. This allows easy addition of data from other tools and reference data to create a single exported spreadsheet. isGyro surveys can also be reprocessed in a batch. All data is quickly regenerated by the single click of a button, with automatic updating of all tables and charts.
Minimal software footprint The installers for the isGyro software are small and transferring the installers and updating software from Inertial Sensing Support is fast and simple. Everything required is in the installer. Even the export of Excel spreadsheets does not require Excel to be installed on the computer. All software runs on Windows XP and Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit).
ACCESSORIES
Inertial Sensing offers a 38 mm running gear especially designed for the isGyro which is compatible with surveying accessories from Polymetra.
The isGyro 38-mm Gyro Running Gear Kit comes in a Peli Case 1750 and consists of:
- Pressure barrel
- Top plug with tool hanger
- Bottom plug with shock absorber
- Swivel
- Anti-roll bar
- 3 V-blocks
- 30-mm Spanners

A sighting device is required for vertical surveys to align with a known reference direction.
INLINE CENTRALIZERS
Centralizers are required for vertical surveys to prevent the tool from spinning
The Polymetra sighting device for the isGyro is stored in a Peli Case 1400. It consists of:
Rifle scope mounted on a special bracket holding 3 spirit levels
Clamp (can be attached to any spanner face of the running gear)
Locking plate
For surveys in underground mines and tunnels, a sighting device with two laser beams is available.
The design of inline centralizers prevents the tool from blocking when surveying open holes as the blades can deform to a minimum diameter of 38 mm.
Polymetra's inline centralizers are designed for the isRG38 running gear. They come with a PVC-tube for transportation and storage. The standard kit consists of:
- 2 centralizer bodies with shaft and sliding end
- Bow springs for borehole diameter 3", 4" and 5" (8 each)
- 19-mm spanner
- Plastic tube to assist mounting of spring blades
Polymetra's lightweight tripod allows a single operator to execute a survey in vertical a borehole when the drill rig has already left.
The kit consists of:

The ADW600 is Polymetra’s new compact borehole winch.
ISSURVEYOR SOFTWARE
isSurveyor is the software to perform isGyro surveys. Provided free with every isGyro.
It is designed for 600 m of 1/8"-wire rope.
The main components are:
- Helicoidal spindle for automatic laying of cable on drum
- Electronic depth encoder with display
- Frequency controlled asynchronous electric motor (0.75 kW)
- Electric motor break that keeps the wireline absolutely still at stations
- 600 m of stainless steel wire rope
A version for geophysical borehole logging with 600 m of 1/8"mono-conductor wireline cable and mercury slip rings is available on request. Please contact us for any special requirements.
